Save Money - Rent a Hall! |

Rent a Hall, Save Money, Have the BEST PARTY!
Here's a Definite Money Saver!
This weekend I played a Real Irish Shindig at the Irish-American Society Venue
in Glastonbury. It was a hall (opposed to a Formal Dinner Palace) and we had the
Best Reception EVER! In fact, every wedding I've played
over the last 20 years that was set in a VA or Ethnic Local Hall (or even under
a Tent) was a complete success, and amazing party! I'd rate all of them in my Top
10 Weddings of All-Time! Why?
1) Halls Save Money!
- It's sort of a Do-It-Yourself Wedding, but Spectacular. Rent the Hall, Hire a
Good Caterer. Bring Kegs of beer and crates of wine, and some liquor if needed
(or BYOB Liquor!). Hire a Good Photographer, and finally get an AMAZING DJ that
will sit and PLAN the entire reception with you. This is important because the
DJ becomes the Only Coordinator at the Wedding, and he really needs to make sure
all the necessities are covered so you don't miss a thing. Plus, He becomes the
Party, and he has to be able to pull off all your plans.Without all the
formalities of a Stodgy Venue, you'll save at least $10,000 altogether (average
Formal reception in CT. is $20K!)
2) Your friends and family are there to
CELEBRATE... Put white tablecloths (rent them) out and
decorate a bit with a theme, then let them have fun! In this unique and
less-stuffy environment you can create some wonderful formalities at first (even
have the ceremony on the dance floor), then eat, then sweep it all aside and
really have a Grand Time that people will remember forever!
3) It does NOT Cheapen your DAY!
- It saves you money, but your friends and family will rave about the Party. In
the days before the Stodgy Villas that now house the Receptions, these were
local family food and fun affairs, sometimes held in backyards and Church
Basements! I've been doing it 20 years, and I promise, No One remembers the
Dinner portion of the Reception! They remember the Party, the fun, the funny
things that happen! They remember playing again with long-lost relatives and
dancing for the first time in years! They remember the CELEBRATION!
A Great DJ will help you plan all this by sitting with you a week before the
wedding, then making it happen for you! He BECOMES the coordinator, so don't
trust it to some kid!
